Role: Quantitative Analyst - Environment

Role purpose:

Verisk Maplecroft’s data-driven solutions offer global scope, granular detail and singular insight into the primary environmental, political risk, human rights, and economic issues impacting organisational resilience, sustainable sourcing and the investment landscape.

The Quantitative Analyst - Environment sits within our Analytics function, helping clients and colleagues through the production of data-led, environmental insight. The successful candidate can expect to work on:

  • developing and producing our range of environmental indices – a dataset incorporating 45 global indices encompassing key environmental, climate change and natural hazard topics
  • answering challenging problems for clients in bespoke engagements – typically combining our proprietary datasets with client inputs - through the smart application of quantitative techniques
  • producing regular thought-leadership/ analysis that helps users to interpret our data and gain insight into how the world around them is developing

Main responsibilities:

  • Development and application of methodologies for a range of environmental indices
  • Administration of the relevant databases to maintain data quality and integrity
  • Management of projects, including the update cycle for the index portfolio and client-facing projects
  • Supporting clients in their use of our data through calls and meetings
  • Innovating with colleagues in the Analytics and Environment teams to develop our analytic offering; in particular, through supporting the development of our range of predictive models

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Robust quantitative skills. The successful applicant will likely have a Master’s degree in a quantitatively oriented discipline and be able to display proficiency with statistical techniques. A high degree of competence in Excel is required, and experience of statistical packages (e.g. SPSS) and/ or programming languages (e.g. Python/ R) will be a distinct advantage. In addition much of our environmental data is spatial in nature, so experience of working with GIS products will be considered beneficial.
  • Domain knowledge. Candidates should have a background in a field related to the environment and/ or risk management. Knowledge of natural hazards and factors which contribute to disaster resilience are highly desirable attributes
  • Project management. Work is largely project based, and the candidate will have experience of successfully delivering projects.

Sales & Marketing

Role: Director - Sales
Location: London

Role Purpose

The Director of Sales for the territory Europe, Africa, Middle East & Russia segment is a key member of the sales & marketing team at Verisk Maplecroft. The role is responsible for driving sales execution and performance across a number of key regions and key sectors of focus for the firm; including but not limited to: extractives, retail & consumer goods, engineering and finance. The role holder will be accountable for the achievement of the sales target for the region (which includes his or her own sales target) as well as the effective use of resources to achieve said target aligned with Verisk Maplecroft’s regional and global objectives. The regional sales portfolio will include clients that cross all of the key Verisk Maplecroft vertical markets and the management of a team of 2 sales people.

The successful candidate will be a results-driven, credible individual who is comfortable in a high profile position both inside and outside the organisation. They will thrive on the sales process and all this entails – right down to the challenges of winning new business and maintaining long term relationships with the current client base.

Main Responsibilities

Lead a team that can create relationships with designated clients to ensure the above objectives are achieved

  • Develop, co-ordinate and implement a sales strategy and portfolio plan (at the team level and individual level)
  • Develop and maintain a territory plan in order to maximize opportunity growth and achievement of sales target
  • Develop a deep understanding of the extractives client base in order to facilitate both research and consultancy opportunities

Knowledge and Experience

The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of the key issues impacting (that impact) the extractive sector and the key operational and commercial workflows for these business types. They will have significant experience selling to the extractives sector and ideally already have relationships with target firms and an understanding of how they consume research. The candidate will have a proven ability of leading a sales team, developing relationships and be comfortable with challenging, yet achievable, sales targets. They should be self-motivated, proactive and results-oriented.

Role: Account Manager – Financials Sector
Location: London

Role Purpose

The successful candidate will lead European sales efforts for a newly launched product suite for the financial services sector.  They will drive the sales strategy, developing leads and new business, and work with existing clients to achieve substantial revenue growth by selling products and services to the world’s largest finance companies.

Whilst part of the broader European & Asian sales team, the candidate will work closely with, and be supported by, our New York based financial services sales colleagues to ensure successful attainment of targets and deliver revenue growth from both banking and institutional investor clients. 

The successful applicant needs to be highly results-driven and demonstrate excellent account management skills and new business development experience in relation to the selling of research and consultancy services to the financials sector. Role: Executive Assistant to Head of Sales and Sales & Marketing Administrator

Verisk Maplecroft is a leading global risk analytics company based in the centre of Bath. We are looking to expand our business support team with the addition of a capable, qualified administrator who has administrative flair and finance knowledge.

The Executive Assistant to Head of Sales and Sales & Marketing Administrator will manage all back and front of office duties, enabling the smooth running of the company and wellbeing of its team. Areas of involvement include Executive support, Finance and general administration to the wider Sales and Marketing team. This particular full-time role will be split between supporting the Head of Sales, the Sales and Marketing team and Finance support.

Finance Support

  • Provide a continued support to Finance by completing a weekly supplier payment run, by coding and preparing all supplier invoices for process by WM Finance
  • Complete credit control each week, ensuring timely client payments and enabling our cash-flow
  • Reduce the credit notes by carrying our initial checks to all opportunities in Salesforce
  • Quarterly contract collation for verification by Verisk
  • Assist with monthly management accounts e.g.: posting journals, accruals
  • Assist in the year end and audit process
  • Process monthly credit card statements / process petty cash
