Role Purpose:

Verisk Maplecroft’s Americas Politics Research team is responsible for developing the company’s qualitative analysis and forecasts relating to political, security economic and regulatory risks across the Americas. The team works closely with Verisk Maplecroft’s analytics, human rights, and environmental teams on products and analysis relevant to international investors.

The Mexico and Central America Senior Analyst will take the lead in generating in-depth and forward-looking analysis of political, regulatory, economic and security developments in the sub-region. The analyst will collaborate with our economics team to develop assessments of the political factors affecting economic trends and developments. The analyst will also work closely with the wider Americas team on cross-cutting regional issues.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Produce forward-looking briefings and insights on events and trends in Mexico and Central America and their impact on the interests of Verisk Maplecroft’s clients
  • Create and update Verisk Maplecroft’s core country profile content for Mexico and Central America
  • Contribute to the scoring and reviewing of Verisk Maplecroft’s qualitative indices in accordance with our methodologies and procedures
  • Contribute to the scoring of commodity-specific indices; create and update commodity-specific analysis for commodities of relevance to Mexico and Central America
  • Provide updates on terrorism and security indices via the company’s in-house systems and dashboards
  • Develop Verisk Maplecroft’s network of sources and contacts within Mexico and Central America
  • Consolidate and strengthen Verisk Maplecroft’s thought leadership on the sub-region, including through media work, external conferences, and academic engagements
  • Act as a source of live insight on Mexico and Central America for Verisk Maplecroft’s clients via analyst calls and ad hoc presentations
  • Work with other members of the Americas team on regional analysis and products
  • Contribute to research-based consulting projects as required
  • Support members of the Verisk Maplecroft and Wood Mackenzie sales teams in the Mexico City office with business development activities as a representative of the Americas and Politics team

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in economics, international affairs, political science, or another relevant field is preferred
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in a relevant field, preferably political risk analysis or consultancy
  • Well-developed understanding of Mexican and Central American politics, economic and trade relations. Sound understanding of salient political and regulatory issues in the extractive industries, manufacturing, and agriculture sectors
  • Broader understanding of Latin American regional and international political dynamics

Key Competencies

  • Robust quantitative skills. The successful applicant needs to have a high degree of competence in Excel and display proficiency with statistical techniques; experience in data visualisation will be a distinct advantage

Role: Account Manager – Financials Sector
Location: London

Role Purpose

The successful candidate will lead European sales efforts for a newly launched product suite for the financial services sector.  They will drive the sales strategy, developing leads and new business, and work with existing clients to achieve substantial revenue growth by selling products and services to the world’s largest finance companies.

Whilst part of the broader European & Asian sales team, the candidate will work closely with, and be supported by, our New York based financial services sales colleagues to ensure successful attainment of targets and deliver revenue growth from both banking and institutional investor clients. 

The successful applicant needs to be highly results-driven and demonstrate excellent account management skills and new business development experience in relation to the selling of research and consultancy services to the financials sector. Role: Director - Sales
Location: London

Role Purpose

The Director of Sales for the territory Europe, Africa, Middle East & Russia segment is a key member of the sales & marketing team at Verisk Maplecroft. The role is responsible for driving sales execution and performance across a number of key regions and key sectors of focus for the firm; including but not limited to: extractives, retail & consumer goods, engineering and finance. The role holder will be accountable for the achievement of the sales target for the region (which includes his or her own sales target) as well as the effective use of resources to achieve said target aligned with Verisk Maplecroft’s regional and global objectives. The regional sales portfolio will include clients that cross all of the key Verisk Maplecroft vertical markets and the management of a team of 2 sales people.

Main Responsibilities

The candidate will have a proven ability of leading a sales team, developing relationships and be comfortable with challenging, yet achievable, sales targets. The Lead Generation Telemarketer is an integral part of the Sales & Marketing team at Verisk Maplecroft and is critical to the success of our outbound marketing campaigns and our inbound lead qualification process. The purpose of the role is to increase the return on investment from marketing activity by qualifying marketing-generated leads before handover to Sales, delivering higher quality of lead, resulting in increased conversion rates and, ultimately, revenue.
