Role purpose:

The Senior Account Manager will be a key member of a newly built Americas Regional Sales Team, responsible for driving sales execution and performance across existing and new accounts within their assigned portfolio. The role holder will be accountable for the achievement of sales targets aligned with Verisk Maplecroft’s regional objectives, as well as the effective use of resources to achieve such targets. Whilst the portfolio will include a diverse set of customers across our key vertical markets the successful candidate will focus their time and effort on the Financial Sector. This will involve working with our strategic leadership team as well as other key internal stakeholders to translate our segment strategy into substantial revenue growth among both banking clients and institutional investors. 

The successful applicant needs to be highly results-driven and demonstrate excellent account management skills and new business development experience in relation to the selling of research and consultancy services to the financials sector. He/she must also demonstrate a strong orientation towards understanding client needs and communicating value, as well as a high level of team skills in working with Verisk Maplecroft groups such as consulting & research.  Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to work autonomously within a sales & marketing reporting structure are important credentials for the successful candidate.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Active management and growth of assigned portfolio to align with regional priorities.  
  • Developing long-term business relationships with senior executives
  • Effective client engagement and understanding of critical client business issues and how the Verisk Maplecroft suite of offerings addresses those business issues. 
  • To be the voice of the customer to internal stakeholders and the voice of Verisk Maplecroft to the customer
  • Aggressively pursuing cross-sell & upsell goals with all accounts in assigned portfolio
  • Successfully identifying customers amongst assigned portfolio that present the best opportunity for growth and focusing time and resources effectively
  • Developing a comprehensive territory plan taking into account macro & micro economic factors that could impact the customer buying cycle
  • Effective teaming with the broader organization to include marketing, research and consulting 
  • Consistent use of tools such as Salesforce and technology to communicate across the organization and to customers  
  • Represent Verisk Maplecroft at conferences and professional organizations to expand brand recognition and promote business development activities
  • Supplying continuous feedback to the sales organization of how to improve our service to customers inside the assigned portfolio
  • Support the product development cycle by contributing market/demand analysis and an understanding of client needs, as well as subsequently playing a role in determining pricing and packaging.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

  • Experience (5 - 10 years) in a highly structured account management/sales role with customers in industries such as financial services, industrials, retail, consumer good, technology & natural resources
  • Experience selling to and building relationships within the financial sector, particularly:
  • BS/BA degree required, advanced degree preferred
  • Excellent communication & negotiating skills and the clear ability to foster effective and collaborative relationships within and across teams and reporting lines
  • Commercial track record in developing clients and establishing a trusted advisor relationship
  • Strong understanding and appreciation of territory, business culture and environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • An intellectual curiosity about how data and analysis solves critical business issues, as well as in relation to different trends and sub-segments within the asset management community and how these translate into demand for risk analytics and tool

Technical

We are looking for a software developer to join our dynamic and innovative Technology Team. The role will require you to conceive, design and build new software applications as well as understand and innovate with our existing products. You should be a good communicator and have the ability to work with the team through a variety of technical challenges.

The role offers great variety and you will have the opportunity to be involved with both internal and external clients, building web based interactive tools, maps and data visualizations as well as maintaining and enhancing on our entire content delivery system and corporate website.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Proven experience in being accountable for application development supporting business objectives while demonstrating independence in software development lifecycle phases from concept and design to testing.

Proven experience in the following areas is essential for the role:

  • Extensive use of Python
  • Analyze designs to build component-based applications in a web/internet delivery environment, including introduction of an application layer, modelling techniques (UML), object-oriented design, complex algorithmic coding, and systematic approaches to application integration.
  • Performs hands-on coding and assists in the architecting of web content solutions. Expert understanding of web architecture and application servers.
  • Provides technical guidance to junior programmers and other software engineers.
  • Proficient with enterprise software/hardware solutions and tools.
  • Demonstrated experience with N-tiered applications, multi-tier architecture, and production Internet architectures.
  • Proven ability to create component/subsystem documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce design and technical specifications as needed for technical documentation.

  • Proven experience in software development, maintenance and delivery with application server experience.
