Election Monitor

Election Monitor

Maplecroft's Election Monitor has been developed to identify the key risks and benefits to business and the overall stability of the investment climate presented by potential changes in regime in countries worldwide.

Election monitors will be delivered in at least two parts - the first offering background, analysis and forecasts of results in the run-up to the election; the second providing results, an assessment of the election and analysis of the implications to industry sectors and investors. Further updates may be released following recounts of votes, second round presidential election or crucial primaries.

Analysis includes primary investment risks; the geopolitical dimension; likely reaction from the business world; and short-term risks such as election fraud and political violence. Background information offers risk trends; profiles of candidates and their policies towards business; and analysis of the country's political structure and election processes. Stakeholder viewpoints will also be analysed as will key events, such as rallies or changes in allegiance of the armed forces.
