New Maplecroft Sector Risk Calculator quantifies sector risks in all countries worldwide

Maplecroft, in its bid to continue innovating new solutions to the global challenges faced by multinational companies and investors, has released the Sector Risk Calculator, a tool to quantify and visualise sector risks across all countries worldwide.

The Sector Risk Calculator incorporates the latest Maplecroft Risk Calculator technology and content. The high-tech tool enables companies and investors to select and compare 10 sector risk indices and global maps to create custom scorecards that quantify risk for all geographies.

Sectors include: chemicals, construction and engineering, electric utilities, food products, machinery, metals and mining, oil and gas, paper and forestry, transportation and wireless communications.

Maplecroft designed this functionality to provide users with an understanding of both inherent risk exposures and risk mitigation proficiencies. It also allows comparison with peers and alignment of your own activities with stakeholder and investor concerns.

Each scorecard can be quickly assembled at the click of a mouse to include country risk information specific to your business and sector. It also includes global maps for each risk index and an option to export risk data to spreadsheet format.

The 10 Sector Risk Indices, included in the Sector Risk Calculator, combine Maplecroft’s extensive country risk datasets with in-house expertise and dedicated research on sector-specific risks that affect companies worldwide. These will enable users to visualise individual risks through a sector lens. The rationale is that different sectors are exposed to distinct risks and that particularly capital and labour intensive operations have quite distinct risk profiles.
