Maplecroft releases regional package of country risk briefings for the Maghreb
09/11/2011
The strategically important region of the Maghreb has seen dramatic change in 2011. The full impact of the uprisings are still playing out and will likely continue to do so for years to come. In the short term however, the situation remains dynamic and recent weeks have seen Tunisia’s first free and fair elections and the formal ‘liberation’ of Libya following the capture and killing of former Libyan leader, Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. Pressure for reform persists in Algeria and Morocco and Mauritania.
With this in mind, Maplecroft is offering a package of country risk briefings to provide critical insights into existent or potential unrest, ongoing investment risks and the opportunities for business.
Maplecroft’s country risk briefings for Algeria, Morocco, Libya, Tunisia and Mauritania provide detailed analysis of the key risk areas affecting multinational companies with operations and investments in the region. Sections include: the governance framework, the regulatory and business environment, political violence, human rights, the environment and climate change, as well as an economic overview. The briefings also offer key recent events and stakeholder views.
According to Maplecroft Director, Anthony Skinner: “The political change taking place in Tunisia and Libya in particular presents a series of risks and opportunities. Understanding the political, security, economic and regulatory environments of individual Maghreb countries during a period of change helps investors mitigate potential risks.”
The briefings can be bought individually at full price or in discounted packages, which can include any combination of the five countries.
