Research & Analysis

Team: Supply Chain Solutions

Reports to: Head of Consulting

Location: London, New York or other global locations

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and implement client supply chain solutions, including the development and management of online interactive platforms. Includes frequent client engagement at multiple levels to:
    • agree the scope / milestones / nature of solution (e.g. responsible sourcing, business continuity analysis, human rights due diligence etc.)
    • implement the project collectively with Verisk Maplecroft teams including Analytics, Thematic Areas, Country Risks and Technology
    • ensure relevant Verisk Analytics solutions from other business units are integrated / made available to clients where needed
  • Contributes to Verisk Maplecroft supply chain strategy and continued innovation as part of the supply chain analytics and “interactive tools” team and participates in quarterly team / leadership reviews.
  • Works collaboratively with senior managers including the SVP Supply Chain Innovation to ensure the Verisk Maplecroft value proposition remains world class and meets / exceeds client expectations.
  • Attends conferences and events on behalf of Verisk Maplecroft to support the learning, refinement and visibility of our supply chain solutions.
  • Manages projects and develops team members in their career pathways to retain and grow existing talent.
  • Contributes to revenue growth through the development of proposals that support the business development team to engage and on-board new clients.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience, ideally related to supply chain management / sourcing or other related business areas.
  • Knowledge of or experience in supply chain issues and / or management solutions including responsible sourcing processes and best practices.
  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to meet stringent deadlines, communicate progress on projects, and work with managers and other teams to coordinate multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to support engagement with both internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Knowledge of or experience in Verisk Maplecroft key client industries an added bonus – extractives, consumer and retail, food & agriculture, ICT/telecoms, manufacturing, financial services or insurance;
  • Capacity to work and thrive in a growing, fast-paced, dynamic environment;
  • Proven self-starter, with demonstrated ability to take initiative and self-manage project delivery to deadlines;
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results through personal leadership and effective management of others;

Reports to: Head of Analytics

Location: Bath for 6 months then open to location

Role Purpose

The successful candidate will work on a number of important projects, including:

  • Managing a team of quantitative risk analysts
  • The delivery of Verisk Maplecroft’s industry-leading political, economic, societal and environmental risk indices
  • Consultancy work designed to help clients interpret and apply the indices in their particular context
  • Working with an internal software team to maintain and develop our suite of interactive tools
  • Working with the sales and marketing team to support business development initiatives

Knowledge and Experience

The role involves managing a team of quantitative analysts to deliver our suite of risk indices. The successful applicant will have:

  • Experience of line-, product- and client-management processes. The primary task for this role is to build and develop a team of analysts, and then to guide this team in developing products and solutions for clients.
  • A clear, confident presentational style. The role will entail regular interactions with clients, requiring technical topics to be explained in a concise and transparent manner.
  • High levels of confidence working with quantitative data. Applicants must be numerate and proficient users of Excel; experience of statistical software packages would be distinct advantage.
  • A keen interest in current affairs and the role of business in the global economy. The team covers a wide range of issues and an ability to talk knowledgeably and passionately about business issues is a pre-requisite for maintaining credibility with stakeholders.

Verisk Maplecroft is currently seeking to recruit a Senior South Asia Analyst and/or Analyst with a proven track record of work and research on India in particular. We are looking for candidates who have spent significant time in the region and have excellent analytical, writing, editing, and presentation skills. Business acumen is essential and the ability to focus on our clients’ requirements is a prerequisite.

Preference will be given to candidates with native-level fluency in South Asian languages, especially Hindi/Urdu. Applicants with strong client-facing experience and business development credentials will have an advantage.

Requirements:

  • Candidates should be highly literate, supported by relevant qualifications, including at minimum a Master’s degree or PhD. The ideal candidate will also have several years of experience in risk analysis or consulting, with a focus on South Asia.
  • Applicants should also have advanced IT skills and demonstrable proficiency in the full Microsoft suite, with strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, and a deep understanding of research methodologies.
  • Candidates must be able to manage time effectively and work under pressure. Applicants should also be creative and innovative, with strong communication skills. Additionally, candidates will be comfortable working in an interdisciplinary team with formal peer review.

Technical

We are looking for software developers to join our dynamic and innovative team. The role will require you to conceive, design and build new software applications as well as understand and innovate with our existing products. You should be a good communicator and have the ability to work with the team through a variety of technical challenges.

The role offers great variety and you will have the opportunity to be involved with both internal and external clients, building web based interactive tools, maps and data visualizations as well as maintaining and enhancing on our entire content delivery system and corporate website.

The role entails:

Web Designer required to join expanding design team in Bath, with the ability to take a project from wireframe through to final design with a pixel-perfect attention to detail.

Knowledge/experience of: Adobe Creative Suite, XHTML, Cross browser CSS, JavaScript libraries such as JQuery. Django framework and an interest in data visualisation also advantageous.
